Ughh, The She Devil

www.theinsider.com

WHAT  an idiot. This woman seriously makes my skin crawl. Her book, "Going Rogue" came out and I have zero desire to read it. She is such an idiot. I tried to find the stupid picture her that I could and this is what I got. She was on Oprah today and she seemed to not improve without McCain's aides. What...a surprise. I liked when Oprah asked her "Why she resigned from being governor"? What I heard was bla bla bla, Alaska is my home, I did it to recharge.Ughh, excuse me why are you recharging, just uncharge and go away FOREVER. KThnksbye.

A Great Day

Last night after work I headed up to my parents. A miserable drive would have been an understatement. It has been pouring here NONSTOP since yesterday morning and does not appear to end before Friday. Anyways, made for a very long trip. When I walk in my mom goes, you seem grumpy. Uhhh no shit! I just had a terrible drive.

Today, I met with our friend that was shot in Afghanistan. He is such a remarkable person. He has made so much progress since he was shot and he is seriously a huge inspiration. His sister and her 10-month old son have been there the entire time. He is really awesome.

I just finished watching the Andre Aggassi interview on 60 Minutes. It was really interesting. I'm not completely sure how I feel about the situation. He has received some really harsh criticism from some of his peers. This is opinion, it was absolutely not acceptable, but crystal meth is not a performance enhancing drug, so what he won was truly all his. However, what I don't quite get is he is happy with his wife and kids, why bring it up? He could get away with it forever. Anyways. I'm not at all in support of his acts but it really only causes harm to himself.

Highlights from my weekend

So I had a really great weekend! I was jonesing to get out of the fucking office on Friday afternoon. It seems everyone else's boss lets them leave early on Friday, but mine. I know I should be thankful that I just have a job but uh, I'm still irritated.

Friday we went to M's college town to watch an exhibition game. It was such an asskicking that we were cheering for the other team - just a little bit :) After we went out for a few drinks, which I personally always enjoy. Something that is really amazing - no smoking in bars takes place effectively Jan 1st, but a lot of bars are starting early! I'm so stoked, I really hate smoking, so needless to say I'm over the moon about this new law.

Saturday we cleaned our cars with M's shop vac. Wanda needed a good cleaning. It was quite cathartic actually. That night we went to dinner with some people and out for drinks to celebrate M's friend from hs' birthday. Good times. There was this other couple there, and the dude was married to another woman for like 15 years, but they had been separated for a long time and he and this he and this girl I was talking to had been together like 6 years. She was really open and cool, and it was really interesting hearing about other people's life that is a little less than what is considered "normal".

I have this Wednesday off because it is Veteran's Day. I'm going to my parents because a family friend of ours was shot in Afghanistan and he is doing his rehab where my parents live. I'm really glad that I can take the time to go see him. He is such a fighter and he has been through SOOOO much. I should do it every year, but this year I am really thinking about all those that have/do fight for our freedom.

See y'all Wendesday.

Playing the Bagpipes

There are a few shows that I find hilarious and I thought I'd share in case you've been living in the dark. (In no particular order, actually probably by day, so I can remember it).

(Borrowed from entertainmentwallpaper.com)

This show is amazing! Basically all they do is drink, get drunk and make mistakes (AWESOME!). And NPH, is the best gay straight man on the tv.

Um, this show is hilarious!!!! Oh my goodness. If you aren't watching it stop what you are doing and fix that immediately. So funny!! Al Bundy! Say no more.

If you aren't familiar with this show, I'd advise that you remove yourself from the rock that has been laying on top of you for the past 5 years. Actually, I think that this show is on the downslope, but Michael is still ridiculous and I love JAM!! (That's Jim and Pam for all those rock dwellers).

This show is hilarious!!! Start watching immediately!! I'm sure you are thinking you are killing me with the exclamation points but this show is awesome. Give it a few episodes before you leave it, because with time and love it is well worth the wait you may insert the "that's what she said" quote here.

I'll give some honorable mentions to the following:

The awkwardness on this show is pretty good. Just look at the pic. Definitely has gotten better the second season.

I know, you are thinking, uh dude GG is not a comedy. But I challenge you to watch this and not laugh at the pure ridiculousness that is GG. I usually watch this one on my own, but sometime's M will humor me and make fun of it the whole which which I think is rather appropriate is really unsupportive :)

Take it or leave it and try not to judge me for watching so much tv. :) Although I might have to break up with some of my favorite shows come January when I start school, wa wa wa.

Why are people so stupid?

So today was a BAD day. I started it off by driving to work which in itself was terrible.

Let me start by saying that today was really sunny and there was nothing that should have been difficult about this drive to work. Ok, done. So I am driving and besides the normal stupid people both those who are not paying any attention and are incompetent and those who think they are participating in the Indy 500 (no, you can not draft off of my civic - her name is Wanda, PS). ANYWAYS, all of sudden traffic stops on the main road before the highway. Fender bender, but it moved fairly quickly. Then, I get on the highway and STOP. Ok, must be another accident, geez this is kind of annoying. (Also annoying is the asshole who was basically driving his big huge truck in my small backseat...) Finally, traffic started moving again and what do you know less than a mile later another stopping of traffic. At least my exit was only a mile away but that took 10 minutes. ARGHHHH.

In addition to that, I had some family drams that was seriously bringing me down. But, I'm trying to look on the positive side of things.

Tonight I made chili from scratch (meaning I didn't use the packet!!) Go me!
  • 1 lb of ground turkey
  • half an onion
  • half a red pepper, half a green pepper
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 can of kidney beans
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes (chili version)
  • 1 small can of corn
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
It was really good and it has a lot less sodium than the packets (and it makes enough for like 4 additional meals!) It was kind of taken from a RAchel Ray recipe, but then I amended it to shit I had in my cabinet. So, to quote her "Yum-O"!

Cheers.

Good Times

And somehow it is Sunday night again (booooo), but I had a really great weekend so I'm thankful for that. Friday I had friends over to celebrate my birthday and some friends made me a cake. I have to say I'm a big cake person on birthdays and I make them for everyone's birthday so it's nice that they thought of making one for me :) So for Halloween 4 of us dressed up as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and on Friday we worked on our costumes. I am not even remotely creatively, so I basically watched everyone make my costume.

On Friday this weird dude at the bar, Fred bought me and M a shot (M got one too because Fred didn't want M to think he was trying to hit on me). Pretty funny. For Halloween a friend of ours had a party at his new house - which was a lot of fun. We took this cab downtown that had Trivia! haha so fun - but the trivia was really hard!!!

Today I have been the biggest lazy ass and did nothing but eat an unhealthy breakfast and got o the grocery store. Oh well, I guess productivity will have to wait until next weekend. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my birthday! I am a big birthday person. I love birthdays! I love celebrating my own, celebrating others, I just apparently like a reason to celebrate. I am turning 26 today (eww, gross who let that happen?) so nothing earth shattering. M is taking me to dinner and then on Friday I think a bunch of us are going out.

I've decided as a gift to myself I am going out to lunch with some of my co-workers and I'm not working out! Go me! I work out a lot and usually don't miss during the week, but I figure its my birthday so hah! Take that gym! (pretty sure no one will miss me there).

Looking forward to a low key birthday and M told me I could watch this week's episode of Gossip Girl and hopefully there is a new Modern Family (that show is hysterical).

Happy Wednesday to everyone but me :)
